One of my biggest regrets was not doing this more with my own children when they were younger. Sure- I have loads of happy phone snaps (usually of them, not so many of me) Little craft, little effort and not capturing the true feeling and emotion within that individual moment.

I remember being a little girl, and scouring through a suitcase of images my mother kept stored in the cupboard. I did the same thing going through my Nan’s photo box and albums, using it as a way to connect with her, and listen to endless hours of stories about each event, each person and her memories of that day.

You could say, I’ve been working up to this career my whole life, with the idea of connected storytelling a key feature of my work. The need to understand the dynamics of a family and the individual story behind them.

Every family is different – they all have their own way, their own nature and their own personality. I try to make it my mission to capture each and everyone of those quirks and idiosyncrasies.
